Clean Water Action Endorses Slate of Environmental Champions for Re-Election to the Michigan State House
LANSING- Today, Clean Water Action announced its endorsement of a slate of incumbents with strong environmental records running for third terms in the Michigan House of Representatives.
“Each of these incumbent lawmakers have been staunch advocates for our environment throughout their legislative careers,”said Mary Brady-Enerson, Clean Water Action Michigan Director. "With all of the water-related crises we are now facing in Michigan, it is imperative that we elect lawmakers who are willing to stand for our Great Lakes, and work to protect the 21% of the world’s fresh surface water that runs through and surrounds our state,” concluded Brady-Enerson.
The Michigan State House lawmakers endorsed in the slate are:
- Abdullah Hammoud, 15th State House district
- Kevin Hertel, 18th State House district
- Darrin Camilleri, 23rd State House district
- Bill Sowerby, 31st State House district
- Donna Lasinski, 52ndState House district
- Yousef Rabhi, 53rd State House district
“The Great Lakes and our environment have clearly not been a priority for the majority in the Michigan State House. These lawmakers we endorse today have been on the front lines, fighting to protect our environment and we are proud to endorse them all in their respective races,” said Brady-Enerson. “This November, Michigan voters will decide what our priorities are as a state. We urge voters to consider our Great Lakes in that equation, and support these environmental leaders for re-election.”
