Clean Water Action Endorses Leslie Pool for Austin City Council, District 7

Friday, September 9, 2016

Clean Water Action is pleased to announce its endorsement of Leslie Pool for Austin City Council, District 7.

In the two years since her election in 2014, Council Member Pool has been a champion for water conservation and renewable energy. She was a leader in the successful effort to persuade city leaders to invest in low-cost West Texas solar farms that will reduce Austin's dependence on fossil fuels, lower Austin Energy's water footprint, and help keep electric bills in check. She continues to work for deeper commitments to water conservation and water quality, and for better management of stormwater runoff. She successfully fought to assure that the November 2016 transportation bond package includes substantial levels of funding for urban trails, sidewalks and bikeways.

Leslie Pool has worked hard on behalf of a more sustainable and affordable city. Clean Water Action urges its supporters in District 7 to help re-elect her on Tuesday November 8. Early voting runs from October 24 through November 4.

Other Clean Water Action endorsements for city races will be announced in the coming days.
