Living Safely with Lead Webinar Series
In this online training series local experts will teach participants simple but effective steps to identify and live safely with various community sources of lead.
Participants will learn about the health effects of lead as experts teach them about: lead in paint, lead in drinking water, and lead in soil & dust. Additionally, we have included a segment addressing tenants' rights and Philadelphia's Lead Abatement law.

- City of Philadelphia v. Page v. HUD
- City-wide lead coalition v. HUD & PHA
- Philadelphia laws protecting tenants from being retaliated against and evicted because lead violations were issued against the landlord
- Passage in 2011 of lead disclosure ordinance, which required a lead-safe certification be given to tenants who have children ages 6 or under
- Problems with the implementation of the law
- Passage of amended lead safe certification in 2019 which included requiring a lead-safe certification for all residential properties (except student housing)
