Since 2016, Massachusetts has passed 3 energy bills that require the state to pursue clean energy solutions like offshore wind energy. Unfortunately, some businesses and politicians still think we need a new dirty gas pipeline to provide energy during the winter. We have had some of the coldest winters on record in recent years, and suffered no blackouts due to lack of energy supply. California and Hawaii have committed to 100% renewables and it is time for Massachusetts to envision a future in which we do not rely on burning oil and gas to keep the lights on.
Ask Governor Baker to commit to the law he signed this summer and double our state’s offshore wind energy today. Climate change won’t wait for Baker and the utility companies, we have no choice but to act now.
