Who can participate in 100 for Clean Water? Only individuals who specifically contribute $1000 to the 100 for Clean Water initiative by November 28, 2017 (5:00PM EST) may participate. You may participate as an individual or as a “pair” (two individuals).This is not open to corporations or organizations. We reserve the right to decline a donation.  

How many people can participate in 100 for Clean Water? There is no limit to the number of participants. You may give as an individual or as a pair (two individuals whose combined gift is $1000). Our goal is to raise $100,000. There is no obligation to participate in future years although we hope you will.

 

Is my donation tax deductible? YES, it can be. Donations made to Clean Water Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization, are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Donations made to Clean Water Action, a 501(c)(4) organization, are not tax deductible as they support legislative lobbying.

Can I give more than $1,000? YES, you are encouraged to give at a level that is of significance to you to help Clean Water grow its programs, reach more people and do more good. But for the purposes of this initiative, one person or pair gets one vote regardless of their level of giving of $1000 or more.

Can I give less than $1000? YES, your support at any level is of great value to us in advancing our work. While 100 for Clean Water requires a $1000 minimum, two people can combine their donations to reach the $1000 minimum. All other donations can be made on line at www.cleanwateraction.org/nj or by mailing check to: 198 Brighton Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740. 

Is it easy to donate to 100 for Clean Water? YES, simply go to www.cleanwateraction.org/100-clean-water. You may elect to donate as an individual or pair. Remember you must donate on or before November 28, 2017 at 5 pm (EST) to be counted. 

If I am a Clean Water Action member, can I count other donations (membership, event sponsors, etc.) made to the organization towards my 100 for Clean Water participation? NO, this is a special fundraising project. All donations must be specifically designated toward 100 for Clean Water when the donation is made. 

What is the voting process? An individual or pair who gives $1000 specifically designated for 100 for Clean Water AND is received on or before November 28, 2017 (5 pm EST) is entitled to cast one vote for the 100 for Clean Water program of your choice. You will be invited to an in-person presentation on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 (snow date Tuesday, December 12th) where light refreshments will be served. You will have an opportunity to discuss the 3 program options with other participants, ask questions and cast your vote. Results will be announced. Only one program receives all the funds. 

Can I still vote if I cannot be there in person? YES, if you want to be counted in the final tally at the November 29th voting event but cannot be there in-person, your vote must be received before November 29th. You will receive voting instructions by email upon receipt of your 100 for Clean Water donation.

How are you promoting 100 for Clean Water? Clean Water Action will post the program on its website, use social media, distribute handouts, send email announcements and other mailings to our members, friends and volunteers. We also encourage you to promote participation amongst your friends, family and colleagues. Share on facebook and twitter.
