Problem: Clean Water at Risk
Did you know that many of our lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands are in jeopardy of losing important clean water protections?

Big developers and other polluters are using the courts and backdoor bureaucratic maneuvers to undo clean water protections. Since it was passed in the 1970s, the Clean Water Act–our most important water law—has helped prevent water pollution. Thanks to the Act, we’ve made great progress cleaning up many of our precious lakes, rivers and streams.

Weakening the Clean Water Act and placating polluters with lax enforcement is the wrong direction for America’s waters. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) should be making protecting our lakes, river and streams its priority–not looking the other way for polluters. Changes to the Clean Water Act could jeopardize the drinking water sources for 110 million Americans.

Solution: Protect ALL of America’s Waters
One important way to fight back and keep these critical protections is to let our elected officials in Washington know that protecting and strongly enforcing the Clean Water Act is what Americans want. We love our waterways and we need clean sources for our drinking water.

We need to tell Congress to restore the Clean Water Act and all its protections. All of our waters deserve protection–lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands–not just a few of them.
