Battle Creek -- Clean Water Action today endorsed State Senator Mark Schauer, a Battle Creek Democrat, in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District.

"We are pleased to announce today that Clean Water Action officially endorses Mark Schauer for Congress," said Cyndi Roper, Michigan Director. "He’ll continue work to protect Michigan’s Mark Schauerlakes, river, streams and drinking water sources as well as the health of our families and communities.”

Schauer has consistently maintained a strong record on clean water and environmental health issues in the state Senate. Mark Schauer has earned a lifetime 98 percent on Clean Water Action’s legislative scorecard for. Most recently, he has fought for Great Lakes protections and limits on out-of-state waste trash entering Michigan.

With the endorsement, Clean Water Action will lend its capacity and name to Schauer's campaign.

"We will get the word out to our 5,000 members in the 7th District to help ensure Mark Schauer is elected," said Roper. "Clean Water Action’s volunteers and staff will talk with our members at their doors and on the phones about Schauer’s strong environmental record.”
