Political Humor

For decades we have been hearing about the wide array of health effects in people and animals that are linked to toxic chemical exposures. These effects get scarier and scarier - like children's ability to learn, reproduction problems, contributions to epidemics like diabetes. It's also true that we keep hearing about these effects from lower and lower levels of exposure.

The importance of Kristof's appearance on The Colbert Report is thait brings the basic ideas to people who aren't going to be paying attention to these issues all day long like Clean Water Action's policy and organizing staff do. And it remind us we can't shop our way out of toxic exposures. Preventing pollution and choosing safer alternatives - indeed creating a whole new way of managing chemicals in our society - that's our job and we appreciate the support of all our members so that we can keep doing it.
